Buskirk attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where she received
a BA in English. She has written witty articles and poems for
Running Times Magazine, Camperways, Ideals Magazine,
Worcester Telegram and Gazette. She also wrote a humor column
for the Auburn News in Auburn, Mass.

married the man of her dreams in 1967. While her husband
maintained an outer facade of being the perfect husband, father, and
successful business man, his image of perfection was shattered at
home by the abusive traits he harbored within. The story has been
written from the pages of a diary she kept in order to understand what
she was living and why, and travels through the torment and
humiliation of physical and emotional violence to the psychological
growth, which ultimately led her and her children to freedom.
