Georgiana won’t find out till later, he’s using her for information she might have dug up on the murder because one of
the women whose husband died of natural causes is his lover.  Daniel spends his time gambling. Then his golf cart
is broadsided by a white van. Gazette vans are white. Clues point to either Dixie or Augusta’s involvement in the
deaths. Augusta attacks Georgiana when her snooping gets too close for comfort and it’s Dixie who saves Georgiana.
Augusta skips to the islands but is detained then returned to authorities. She has learned about the birth connection
and Dixie fears she’ll tell Georgiana (whom she gave up with the best of intentions and worst of outcomes) or resort
to blackmail.

Dixie, a very wealthy widow with powerful connections, sees to it Augusta can’t hurt Georgiana again or blackmail
Dixie. Augusta is killed. Suffering from Alzheimer’s, her health erodes. She dies and leaves her wealth to her
daughter, the only way she can make amends. Georgiana leaves Daniel for Dixie’s island retreat and works out a
deal with the incarcerated detective, another heir of Dixie’s estate as it turns out, so she gets the lion’s share of the
inheritance. It means a more favorable slant on her testimony against him. His lawyer comes to see Georgiana but
she’ll have nothing more to do with the detective which is good. The lawyer makes it plain he’s interested. Georgiana’
s luck as changed.
Georgina and her husband Daniel relocate to the east coast of Florida to
mend a rocky marriage. Shortly after they settle in Merry Acres, one man
is found murdered. Soon after, two more die from natural causes, so
called.  Two women befriend her immediately, Dixie Metcalf) who,
unbeknownst to Georgiana, is her birth mother and Augusta Saint
James a retired teacher who now writes a column for the Merry Acres
Gazette. Both have their motives for befriending the newcomer.
